Hiking, boat trip and summer tobogganing at Schliersee
Lake Schliersee is located in the district of Miesbach, a few kilometers east of Lake Tegernsee. The shore is a wonderful place to hike, especially with children, and in the summer months there is even a daily boat service on the lake.
The starting point of our day trip was the train station in the town of Schliersee, which is located on the northern shore of the lake of the same name. Parking spaces are available at the station for a fee. We opted for a hike along the quieter western side of the lake, which took us directly along the shore and along the railroad tracks - a clear advantage over the path along the country road on the eastern side.
Passing the campsite, we reached the Westerberg bathing area, where we enjoyed a relaxed picnic and a quick dip. A short distance further on, we stopped off at the Rixneralm, where we fortified ourselves with refreshments and a few veal sausages for the youngsters.
We then continued to Fischhausen at the southern end of the lake, where we took the ferry back to Schliersee after a short ice cream stop. We then went a little way up to Schlierseeโs local mountain, from where we enjoyed a rapid descent on the summer toboggan run. We ended the day there in a local beer garden.
All in all, a worthwhile day trip that I can warmly recommend to all families!
