The rock trail runs along the wooded and rocky south-west side of Lake Kochel between the Walchensee power station and Raut, which belongs to Schlehdorf. An entertaining hike for young and old, which can be perfectly combined with a trip on the Kochelsee ferry.

The path is elevated and offers great views of the Kochelsee and the foothills of the Alps. We have walked the path several times and in our own experience it is not very busy. Despite the sometimes steeper slopes down to the lake, the trail is definitely recommended for children. There is plenty to discover along the way, such as a small grotto. You can combine the hike with a trip on the Kochelsee ferry, for example from Schlehdorf back to Kochel. We usually choose the Walchensee power station as the starting point, where you can park for a fee and there is also a ferry station in the immediate vicinity.

We start our hike at the Walchensee power plant. After a short ascent, we hike around the lake on the southwest side on a rocky path, the Felsenweg. Wonderful view over the lake, sometimes you can even see the ferry boat. Will that be a pine cone? Some reptiles that we spot along the way are carefully examined. A Turk's cap lily. You are more than welcome. Back to Kochel and the Walchensee power station (takes about 45 minutes) Bavarian flag at the stern.
